Funny story. Congratulations for the coverage you got.

I've added a donate button on user request for my freeware WinMo app YaRPNcalc. I've only got very few donations, like 1 or 2 a year maybe. So the effort of creating a Paypal account and adding the necessary functionality to the web site was hardly worth it (well, it wasn't really that hard either). Nevertheless, as you say, it's still nice to get user appreciation.

Tork was very late, so late that the set of games Microsoft (our editor ) wanted to see on XBox changed for slightly more serious games (like Halo ). So MS moved on and we were a studio without finance. So they had to fire somes.

I was a total jerk at the time, I thought I knew everything about programming and I was very critic. When the finance got scarce I had basically designed myself as someone they didn't want to work with.

I'm much more polite now ;).

I agree. It's often the immediate problem rather than the ultimate goal that keeps one motivated to go on.

Sounds like you left the game industry. Why?

Very nice post, and thanks for linking to my article. That full screen feature sounds pretty neat, seems to me like you've got it all figured out and running how you want it. I do like the idea of just playing a game and not seeing a whole browser and web page; that's definitely how it should be.

Whenever I play flash games, I already ctrl+u, search for .swf, and open that URL up and play it full screen. And usually hit F11 from there. No fun to do it any other way.

What I want to do with SwiffOutGames is to give a real native fullscreen mode for flash games. It's possible to resize flash games, but it doesn't work with many games. Final ninja doesn't work as an example.

Furthermore, flash is too slow on large resolutions, especially on highly graphical games.

SwiffoutGames switch the resolution to the closest of the native resolution of the game. This give you an efficient fullscreen mode too and works with many more games.

May be I love way too perfect things. Did you try it ?

If you want to play flash games in full screen, you could check out FlashPlus at http://axemclion.github.com/#projects/flashresizer.html . It is available as an extension for Google CHrome and as bookmarklet for other browsers. It resizes the game to fit the screen.
